Amway

Improving User Retention Rates for the Amway BodyKey SmartLoss Program

Background:

The 6-month BodyKey™ SmartLoss™ program is based on the science of how we gain and lose weight. It has a personalized balanced eating plan focused on portion control – which is scientifically proven to have the biggest impact on achieving lasting weight loss. The BodyKey™ SmartLoss™ program provides continual personalized feedback and support based on your ongoing progress. The tools are easy to use and delivered to your smartphone. There is no manual tracking or calorie counting required – the program counts for you. The BodyKey™ SmartLoss™ program is designed to help you make lifestyle changes that help you with successful weight loss. As with any weight-loss program, users tend to drop out over time. Even though the SmartLoss program does a good job keeping users engaged and on-track, there are still users who drop out.

Project Scope:

The goal of this project will be to identify the keys reasons that users drop out of the BodyKey program, and to then build an algorithm that can identify users in the program who have a high probability of dropping out in a certain period.

Deliverables:

  • Project Presentation – A presentation to be given at the end of the semester detailing the findings and suggested next steps.
  • Project Documentation – A detailed word document walking through the software used, how the data was cleaned and analyzed, and any assumptions made.
  • Project Code – Well documented code that was used on the project.
