MTH 133 Lab Overview
While the calculus lectures, quizzes and exams emphasize concepts and mathematical problem solving skills,
there are compelling applications in mathematics, engineering and the sciences.
The labs help students relate the mathematical concepts to 'real-world applications'
and understand why mathematics is so important in today's science and technology driven world.
The Labs also utilize MSU's MATLAB license and help expose students to this robust computing environment which is used in many other courses at MSU and companies across the world.
Lab Setup
Before each lab, students are expected to download the MATLAB Code, the Prelab document, and the Prelab assignment.
Students should then look over the Prelab document and watch the Prelab video. Finally, students should answer the questions in the Prelab Assignment Google Form to show that they have completed
these steps and are coming to class prepared.
During the lab, students will be given a document in class with additional questions to answer. Students will work in teams, using the MATLAB Code, to
work through these questions and submit them by the end of the class.
After the lab, Postlab videos will be available for most of the challenging questions and should help students get a full picture of the lab experience. These
are not mandatory but are highly recommended
Grading -- Information about grading and how your performance on the labs will be
assessed can be found on the course syllabus.
