# **How to Install Math Department Network Printer**
*Important: if using wifi, connect to network “MSUnet 3.0”
**Option A: Quick Start – Supports all devices, including phones and tablets**
If you don’t need to use paper stapling, the fastest way to get started is to open your browser,
go to https://print.math.msu.edu/setup, and follow the instructions for your detected
operating system or device type.
**Option B: Full Driver Install**
If you need to use paper stapling, please use the instructions below, depending on your
operating system.
# **Mac**
1) Important: if you using wifi, connect network “MSUnet 3.0”
2) Open the Terminal app, type in “whoami”
3) It will show your computer username – if it is different than your MSU NetId, please contact IT@math.msu.edu and an alias will be created in the system
4) Open Finder app
5) Click “Go” menu and click “Connect to Server” (or press Command + K)
6) Type in server address smb://35.8.72.23

7) Click “Connect” to confirm you want to continue

8) Enter your username using the format “campusad\your-msu-netid-here”

9) Enter your MSU password
10) Select the “printer-drivers” option then click Ok

11) Double click on the “mac” folder

12) Double click on the Kyocera-drivers.dmg to mount it
13) Double click the installer “Kyocera OS X 10.6+” to begin the driver installation

14) Click Continue multiple times to move through the default installation options

15) Click Agree on the Terms and Conditions screen
16) Click Install
17) Enter your Mac password
18) After the installation is finished, click Close

20) Click on the “+” button to add a new printer

21) Click the globe icon
22) Type “35.8.72.23” for the Address
23) Select “Line Printer Daemon – LPD” for the Protocol
24) Type “Math-Print” for the Queue and Name
25) Under the “Use” dropdown, click “Select Software”, and then select “Kyocera TASKalfa
4052ci (KPDL)”
26) Click “Add”
27) Select “Side Feeder” for the Paper Feeder option

28) Select “4000-sheet finisher” for the Document Finisher option
29) Click Ok
