# **How to Install Math Department Network Printer**

*Important: if using wifi, connect to network “MSUnet 3.0”

**Option A: Quick Start – Supports all devices, including phones and tablets**

If you don’t need to use paper stapling, the fastest way to get started is to open your browser,
go to https://print.math.msu.edu/setup, and follow the instructions for your detected
operating system or device type.

**Option B: Full Driver Install**

If you need to use paper stapling, please use the instructions below, depending on your
operating system.

### **Windows 10 and 11**
1) Important: if using wifi, connect to network “MSUnet 3.0”
2) Right-click on the start menu and click “Run” (or press Win + R)

3) Type in \\\35.8.72.23 and click Ok

4) If you are not logged in with your MSU account, you will be prompted to log in. Enter your
MSU login information in the form “campusad\your-msu-netid-here” as the username and
enter your MSU password

5) Double-click on the folder “printer-drivers”
** IMPORTANT: If using Windows 11, there are intermediate steps!

**For Windows 11 only:**

a) Double click on the file “Math-Print registry change needed for Windows 11”

b) Click on “Run” to confirm you trust the author (Math IT team)

c) Click on “Yes” when prompted if you wish to change the registry

d) Reboot before continuing below


6) Right click on Math-Print and a menu will drop down, then click “Connect…” and then wait
patiently - it can take up to 2 minutes to find and install the driver behind the scenes

7) If you are prompted to enter your password again, remember to enter your username in
the format “campusad\your-msu-netid”

8) Open your Settings app (the gear icon in your start menu)
9) Click “Devices” (or “Bluetooth & devices”)
10) Click on “Printers and Scanners” and verify that “Math-Print” appears
