# **How to Install Math Department Network Printer**

*Important: if using wifi, connect to network “MSUnet 3.0”

## **Linux**

Step-by-step instructions for Linux are not available because it can vary greatly depending on
the distribution and the desktop system.

The general premise is similar to Mac – you need to install the drivers available via the SMB
share //35.8.72.23/printer-drivers/linux, then add “Math-Print” using Line Print Daemon (LPD)
protocol.

When connecting to the SMB share, enter your username in the format “campusad\your-msunet-
id” and your MSU password.

If your MSU NetID is different than your Linux username, please email IT@math.msu.edu so an
alias can be created.
